It's All About Embossing

Hey There!!!
For the It's All About Embossing Challenge at All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge Blog here, I decided to use the Sweet Pixies Birthday Lucy stamp to make a sweet b-day card. She is colored with Prismas on C. C. Designs Copic Quality Cardstock and cut out using a spellbinder nestie:

To keep with the party mood I added some balloons made with C.C. Designs Balloon cutters die and also used the candle border die (LOVE IT!!!). For the embossing element of the card I used Stampin' Up's Dot embossing folder.  The inside of the card is finished with the same ballon die and a Stampin' Up sentiment and ready to go to a special little girl!!!

Coloredsprinklegirl Scrapbooking About ME Challenge

Hi again- I have a scrapbooking project to share. posted a video the other day challenging her viewers to scrapbook about themselves.  I never even thought of doing something like this seeing as though #1 I'm usually the one taking the pictures and #2 I'd rather focus on other people like my kids, friends and family.  But I thought I'd give this a try, step out of my comfort zone and try something new :)

For this layout I tried some techniques I have never done before;
< I added some of my clay pieces I made the other day with some polymer clay and a sparrow mold
< I mixed paintings with a picture of myself
< I also piled on some layers, usually I try to keep things as simple as possible (usually for time's sake)
<another technique I tried is time!!!  I never seem to find the time to relish in the process and I actually, truly, deeply enjoyed myself.

About the layout:
<There are two pictures of paintings and one of me
<The multi-colored painting is a self portrait I did when I was around 14 (I'm 30 now!!) I'm an artist at heart a School Counselor by day
<The painting to the right was a gift from my husband four years ago.  He painted myself as an adult and as a child and it is the best (material) gift I have ever received.
<The real picture of me was taken yesterday in front of a great big wood pile at my parent's house.
<I love nature and being outdoors
<Hence all of the wood bits I added to the layout (the "tape", the tag, the butterfly and the cloud (I made all of these myself with the Sizzix Big Shot and some dies)
<I never fail to make a coffee ring since I drink about 10 cups a day ;)
<Like everyone we are a big mix of likes, favorites and they don't always go well together with layouts. I thought this was the time to express the different likes I have and if it clashed---oh well----
<I love beautiful things, colors, nature and mixed them all up together on ONE page!!!
<The last element I added was fingerprints with some neon paint- what more of me is there than a fingerprint???

So here it is{

Thank you for looking and good luck to all of the scrapbookers entering the contest

How've you bean?

I am completely obsessed with Saturated Canary digi stamps right now.  Love every single image and want ALL of them ;) Visit the artist's Etsy site here www.etsy.com/shop/SaturatedCanaryDigis

I am entering the Saturated Canary Challenge #11 Anything but a square or rectangle.  For the card shape I used the Paper Smooches Coffee Cup template for a nice strong cup of coffee and used a sentiment from Fiskars Latte Love "How've you bean?", even though coffee isn't in a tea bag I still thought it was fitting :)  The cup is stamped with a Hero Arts Woodgrain background on a piece of Stampin' Up Crumb Cake card stock.  And of course can't forget the image itself, I used the new Books and Bedhead, LOVE her!!!!.  Added a bit too much Mr. Hueys mist in Tan;) but hey it's a coffee stain ;) and finished it off with some flat back pearls.

SPARKS Feb 9- Feb22

1 Pinterest Photo for inspiration + Paper Smooches Party Posse cutie =

I just looooovvvvveeee this cute little gerbil/hamster and thought they would make a great pair :) I really love the gold safety pin in the photo and knew I needed a touch of sparkle on my card to represent it.

For this card I used Stampin' Up Pink Pirouette card stock and a piece of chevron paper from the new Dear Lizzie Neapolitan collection.  The fabric heart is from Kissing Booth and the gold balloon "string" is Stampin' Up glitter glass in gold.  I added some crystal effects over the heart to make it appear  rounder and more balloon-like.

I hope this card just makes you squeal with delight:)

SPARKS Challenge January 26th - February 8th

Hi there!!! Here is the Pinterest photo used as inspiration for the newest Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.

For this challenge I am inspired by the color scheme; love the muted greens, blues and greys and decided to take the colors and turn them into a card that makes me smile.

I think this sheep was just itching to be jumping over a fence and that is just what I had her (she is a ewe!!!) do:)

I used Party Posse for the sheep image and the Alphadots set for the sentiment. The cardstock is from Papertreyink.com and the colors are Simply Chartreuse and White. The blue card stock is Stampin' Up Pool Party.  I drew in the fence posts with a grey marker and added some grass.  The rest of the fence is finished off with Stone twine from The Twinery.  The middle sheep is adhered with dimensionals for added contrast.

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a smiling day

SPARKS Challenge Jan 12- Jan 25

It's another Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge again and I am so excited about being last challenge's Random Winner!!!!!!

The inspiration photo is a very cool room!   If only I could get my kids to keep their rooms this neat and clean ;)

I decided to use  the Spiffy Scooters and the Alphadots sets for this challenge.  The card stock is Stampin' Up Early Espresso and a pink paper from Stampin' Up (sorry forgot the name).  Some of the dot bunches I placed too close together and it looks as if there are lines on the pink background but I decided to go with it anyway. AKA: I will probably make another card for this challenge;)  I used a sentiment and heart from the Spiffy Scooters set. The scooter was colored with Prismas and cut out. Both the sentiment and the scooter was adhered with dimensionals.  Some honeydew twine from The Twinery was added as a finishing touch.

Thanks for looking :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge :)

For this challenge I decided to go with a cartoon theme focusing on the colors and the freedom of the Pinterest inspiration photo.

>>>>>>>>>>

Mr.Crab was walking down the beach one fine day and knew he was forgetting something.  All of a sudden all of the  bulbs in his crabby head went off and DING.... "Oh Crab... i forgot"    At least he now has a cute card to offer the memory lapse ;)

I used a base of 8x4 white card stock from Papertreyink and drew in the cartoonish boxes using a good ole' fashioned ruler, pencil and black pen :)

For the images I used my three new Paper Smooches stamp sets:
Chubby Chum Pals (the crab, bulb and sentiment)
Alphadot (the question mark and row of dots)
Spiffy Scooters (the "thinking" clouds and the smaller clouds)

I inked everything with Memento Tuxedo Black and used three paper collections:   Echo Park Splash for the water, Prima North Country for the "sand" and MME Love Me for Mr. Crab

Prismas were used to finish off the idea bulbs and the clouds.  I decided to keep the background white after much debate. I like how the images pop and the story is presented without too much distraction. I hope you like it and makes you laugh. Thanks for looking.

Hanging by a Thread?

The Gorguss stamp set I used for this card is called Hang Me Up to Dry.  I colored her with Prismas and paper pieced her dress with Tim Holz paper.  The card base is Stampin' Up Crumb Cake and the embossing folder is also from Stampin' Up.  Sentiment and image inside is a Unity stamp, they have been stamped with the Stampin' Up Crumb Cake ink pad.  A button and linen thread from Stampin' up was used to finish off the card.

Thanks for looking and have a meaningful day!
